The name "Atlasnova" is a world-wide registered trademark owned by Atlasnova, Inc.. Atlasnova, Inc. is a proud member of the Uniform Code Council (UCC) and has a WA state business license.
Atlasnova was founded by Arnold and Alvine Beland. Arnold was a design engineer who used laser pointers for his frequent lecturing duties. He designed switching power supplies which would end up being made in Taiwan. During one of his trips in Taiwan, he met with some laser manufacturers and the result was the production of a line of laser pointers made to his specifications. The Atlasnova pointer line was born in December of 1999. Starting off slowly on eBay, the high quality of the Atlasnova pointers spread quickly by word of mouth. You can see from this that the eBay customers are very happy with their pointers. By 2002 the business had grown to the point that Arnold was having trouble keeping up. Being an engineer at heart, he was clerically challenged in any case. Alvine at that time had a good job managing a small company. She quit her job and became the President of Atlasnova. She is also the bookkeeper, the webmaster and the person who makes sure that the orders are checked and shipped the same day.
